Fostering inclusive approaches to health equity in Indonesia 2022
The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed serious health inequity, disproportionately affecting people with disabilities. This project will inform students of nursing and midwifery and educators about the rights of people with disabilities to health services, and principles of inclusive health practices. Through intensive professional and knowledge development for the target group, it is expected that the wider sector will enhance its understanding of the rights of persons with a disability to equal, quality, and accessible healthcare.
During intensive activities, participants learn about policies, modes of healthcare delivery, and services that are implemented in both countries. Furthermore, participants learn about principles of a rights-based approach to disability inclusion, equity, accessibility, reasonable accommodation, and strategies and techniques that can bridge the gap between health policy and its implementation in practice within health services.
