It explores if principles of restorative justice techniques have been used to address climate change harms. Restorative justice contemplates a shared and inclusive vision of justice in society, where people’s voices and experiences are heard, and opinions valued. Restorative justice principles ensure a place for marginalised people, where shared responses are formulated, and harm repaired. Fieldwork for this research project will focus on three areas locations, including: East Java, South Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara.

Since July 2023, AIDRAN’s researchers have worked together with Thomas More Law School researchers at Australian Catholic University, and academics from the Faculty of Law of Brawijaya University. Everyone in this research project equally contributes to the design, implementation process, and evaluation of this project. It is expected that the research journey will produce a new network of knowledge, specialist researchers, policymakers and champions through knowledge-sharing processes. The research will generate new knowledge that will provide evidence and tools to enable women, people with disability and indigenous people to participate in and inform decisions that affect the environment, environmental law and policy work and reform.

The Project is supported by the Australian Government through KONEKSI and implemented by Australian Catholic University, AIDRAN, and Faculty of Law Brawijaya University.

The environment in Indonesia will be a site of change, development, contest and possibly even conflict in the coming decades as principles of environmental protection and environmental restoration become more significant in light of the advent of climate change harms. It is well known that marginalised groups including women, people with disabilities, and indiegenous peoples […]

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[721918540
668,721918541
post-5616","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-research","tag-research","tag-restorasi-project

https://i0.wp.com/aidran.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/DSC02826-e1704977707252.jpg?fit=1500%2C1000&ssl=1
["GET
