The content is drawn from a comprehensive review of the literature, the experience of leading inclusive researchers at UNSW, and DIIU\u2019s community partner organisations of people with disability.<\/p>\n<p>The Disability Innovation Institute at UNSW Sydney is committed to a process of co-production to underpin their approach to inclusive research. In inclusive research, people with disability are involved not just as participants, but as co-creators of knowledge. The Disability Innovation Institute recognises that inclusive research:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promotes the inclusion and well-being of people with disability.<\/li>\n<li>Explores issues that are or are likely to become important to people with disability, drawing on their experience to shape research process and outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Recognises, fosters and communicates the contributions people with disability make to research.<\/li>\n<li>Provides information that people with disability can use to campaign for change.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On <strong>28 August 2020 at 1:30 pm AEST<\/strong> the DIIU, in conjunction with UNSW\u2019s division of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, will mark the release of the Guidelines by hosting an on-line preview of the content and a discussion of its importance.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Eileen Baldry, UNSW Deputy Vice-Chancellor EDI, and Graeme Innes, one of Australia\u2019s most recognised and respected human rights activist, will discuss the importance of inclusion and co-production for research culture and practice at UNSW.
